As a skilled thought-channeler, vision-transcriber, and master colorist a.k.a. art for product whisperer, I am here to serve as your extended-family design system, providing art licensing/freelance services to wholesale, manufacturing, retail, and publishing companies.
My deliverables are: high resolution (600 dpi) fully digitalized, working Adobe Photoshop files via preferred large-media sharing service or storage device and my campaign copywrite—my collection breakdown video is also an option.
I connect your vision with my combo-punch in mastery of traditional art methods and digital art rendering. I use mixed media, watercolor, colored pencil, pen and ink, marker, and pastel. The art is scanned and digitalized at high resolution as layered, working files in Photoshop where the layouts and any coloring or color adjustments are achieved. (No AI is used in any part of my art creation or rendering process.) You, on top of design, get the written campaign description with the collection.
My main design categories are gift, home/kitchen decor, and seasonal/holiday.
I provide a Creative Brief Creation Service that provides the campaign copywrite, color palette selections and mood board. I provide Thumbnail Concept Creation that consists of freehand thumbnail concepts. I also provide a Creative Think-Tank Service to solve broader creative challenges. A breakdown in video format is an option for all of these services. Send me an email request for the Google Doc link to view all my services in detail and prices.
About every two weeks I send out new art, designs and projects that I am working on. Request to receive my latest work by sending an email that says, "send me updates." Your information will not be shared or spammed.
As a creator, I've been skilled in drawing since I was a toddler (notably less skilled then) - doodling on my notebooks, sneakers, printed lunch menus (yes, I'm a Xennial), jeans, myself, and on and on. I was the kid that everyone wanted to do their art projects for them. Deep in rural Western Pennsylvania from very humble beginnings was the ideal artist's backdrop for growing up—moulding a creative brain and curating a love of nature, plants and animals. It entertained a very curious imagination which contributes to my love of storytelling. It's not a cute story of "we didn't know we were poor." We knew that we were dirt-poor (by American standards), and I'm grateful for that beginning for shaping who I am.
My mindset of a can-do attitude has always, always been the wind in my sail. Integrity and discipline are cornerstone, but to be of service and connect has been from the very beginning at the root of it all; whether it be helping a friend or neighbor, doing an act as a good Samaritan, or helping a company achieve product relevance. My direct professionalism is a result of balanced key fundamentals along with a great sense of humor and maintaining a childlike curiosity. I go above and beyond as an expression of my passion of my life work - serving through creating, with over 20+ professional years in art and design as a testament to my dedication. In general, I AM passionate about life, and I love helping people find solutions to their problems!
A glimpse into my day starts off bright and early, organizing and tidying up my itinerary, taking a pulse on important industry matters, accompanied by my spoiled tuxedo cat, Icabod, at my feet after a meditation and gear up of the body. I take a quick assessment of my chickens and plants which gives me a fresh boost of energy for my full productive day ahead, and I'm off to my studio. I often working on several projects in a day, both personal and work related. Bored does not fit anywhere in my vocabulary.
I positioned myself for commissioned projects throughout my education. I allowed space to donate my time, skills and art to many local causes, from animal shelter benefits, community projects to cancer awareness organization fundraisers. My love of creative expression through art existentially grew, catapulting my career as a freelance artist through college. I am skilled in drawing and sketching, watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, colored pencil, cut-paper, marker, clay, pen and ink, mixed media and so much more. My art was purchased and placed into the permanent gallery collection of my alma mater, BC3, where I was awarded Who's Who Among American Junior Colleges, was a member Kappa Pi International Honorary Art Fraternity, was recognized for academic achievements on the President's List and received a degree in graphic design. My art was displayed in galleries in the Pittsburgh area when I was a member of a female artist's group, The Black Crow Girls. I was employed as an in-house artist for several years at wholesale company, Carson Home Accents.
My greatest attributions as an artist come from my awaking that I express gratitude for every day, twice a day. The majority of my life I spent on autopilot without even knowing it—auto-responses and auto-navigation without questioning it. My awakening didn't happen all at once. It was gradual, with blips here and there, throughout my life that I can look back on and pinpoint with dead accuracy. And then it was suddenly all at once. I found myself asking "does this serve me for my highest good?" with everything and everyone and every belief that I ever had. I changed my life, changed my surroundings, changed my friends, and changed my routines and habits. One of them I'm proud to proclaim is living an alcohol-free life. Autopilot comes from a place of lack of purpose. I now live a purpose-driven life which is that of service, community and to help everyone with my gifts and talents in any way that I can.
For the few that visit my studio, it introduces itself with a firm "lets flow" vibe the second you are on the property—my own little inspiring Ferngully of plants and flowers with splashes of my art, encompassing a calm yet energized space. Harnessing creative energy for maximum output is a refined skill that I have mastered over many years of knowing what works best for me. After being an in-house artist, I moved on to entrepreneurship, establishing a very successful art/ink therapy business for myself serving the public for a decade. Years of testimony after testimony, all of my different client-types have repeatedly expressed their appreciation of my unmatched professionalism, uniqueness and my ability to pull their visions out of their heads, only better. As that decade of great success was coming to a close and my awakening in process, I realized I was being called back to my surface design roots. Thus, the creation of Light Elementals LLC— my lighthouse shining my purpose and His Light out into the world.
Every single piece that I create sings "sings let's celebrate life together!"—that wonderful energy is carried into each and every product that dawns my designs. It's for the magic-shakers, the joy-spreaders, the ones making your day just a little bit brighter. It's for the memory-makers that cultivate those loving homes and environments that get talked about for decades. So let's #DawnIt already.
To round it all out, I'm as included in Marquis Who's Who 2024 publication of professionals that are the leaders and achievers of their professional fields and who to be on the lookout for - I am listed as an Honorary Listee as a Surface Pattern Design Professional. I aim to fulfill that title. I am also a proud member of the Wilds Cooperative of Pennsylvania that brings awareness and business opportunity and conservation to our great commonwealth.
"I can't say enough good things about Dawn. She did work for me for three years. Her creativity and professionalism is unmatched. She turned my vague visions into works of art better than I could ever imagine." - Tiffany L.

My permanent studio where all the magic happens was built on the sprawling acres of my homestead, amongst the gardens, ponds and wooded areas that I have lovingly cultivated over the years with my husband and children as a military family - my husband is coming up on almost two decades of service in the Army. The art that I create is an extension of my lifestyle of living purposefully; being grounded, healthy, productive, giving back and in touch with nature and the natural rhythm life intended. My family, animals, gardens and plants are my world - no doubt you will pick up on that so clearly now that you know a bit about me. Because I love what I do, there isn't necessarily "on" and "off" hours. I'm always creating something. That is what I'm meant to do.
"Dawn went over and above my expectations for the work she had done for me over seven years, which captured her true talent of being an incredible and exceptional artist! Her work truly symbolizes the professional person that she is!!" - Anna D.
"I would highly recommend Dawn for her professionalism and attention to detail in her art work. She is easy to work with and makes your ideas come to life. Her work is absolutely beautiful." - Heather M.
